Tanzania: new perspectives through better sight

Sight means independence, participation and quality of life.

Medical care is not a given

In many regions of the world, access to medical care is not a given. Treatable visual impairments can therefore severely limit a person’s everyday life, education and professional opportunities.

Giving back eyesight

With our commitment in Tanzania, we want to help give people access to ophthalmic treatment. Appropriate procedures and treatments can improve eyesight and thereby give back a piece of independence.

A minor procedure, a profound change

What is often a straightforward procedure medically can mean a profound change for the people affected: recognising faces clearly again, moving around more safely, being able to read, learn or work.

Help that actually arrives

Projects like this show us that lasting impact doesn’t always have to start big. What matters is that help actually arrives and creates new opportunities in the long term. That is exactly where we want to contribute with our social commitment.
